The Pakistan Army reportedly reviewed security challenges facing the country at a seven-hour-long huddle of corps commanders, which was chaired by Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on Tuesday.
According to the Dawn, the army chief and his corps commanders reviewed preparedness of the armed forces to deal with any situation that may develop, including how to deal with the alleged cease-fire violations being committed by Indian troops and paramilitary personnel along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Boundary (IB).
Notice was also reportedly taken of the irresponsible statements being made by New Delhi.
However, in a departure from established protocol, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department of the Pakistan armed forces did not issue any statement on the marathon meeting of top military commanders.
ISPR Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor also did not to respond to any queries about what was discussed.
The meeting took place a day after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif appeared before an accountability court in connection with the corruption references filed against him on the orders of the Supreme Court.
