Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and the military have officially complained to the Ministry of Information Technology (MOIT) and the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) about fake accounts of their chiefs being created on the social networking site Facebook.
There are various fake accounts of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif and Director General ISI Lt-Gen Rizwan Akhtar and other senior officers, reported Dawn News.
The military spokesperson said that only one account belonged to the Director General and the rest were fake.
PTA spokesperson confirmed the complaint lodged by the ISI regarding the Facebook fake accounts.
Another PTA official said that there is an understanding between the information ministry and Facebook management, under which the management on the government's request removes unwanted content and pages from its website.
