Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has expressed his disappointment with the British Government over Altaf Hussain's acquittal in a money laundering case and said that Islamabad was expecting a different decision in view of the evidences against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder.

Nisar, who arrived in London on three-day visit on Sunday evening, held a detailed meeting with his British counterpart Amber Rudd at her office on Monday and discussed bilateral relations but focused more on the MQM case, reports The Nation.

According to sources, Rudd made it clear to the visiting minister that every department in Britain works with complete independence and the government as such never interferes in the working of these departments.

"The acquittal of MQM leader and his colleagues is a decision made by the Scotland Yard at the conclusion and advice of Special Prosecution Service which was obligatory as a matter of fact and procedure," she reportedly clarified.

During his stay in London, Nisar will hold meetings with senior officials of Scotland Yard, Secretary of State Boris Johnson and National Security Advisor Sir Mark Layall Grant besides other British government dignitaries.
