A special court in Pakistan has ruled former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf will not be tried in a military court.
The court has now summoned Musharraf before it on March 11.
During the hearing, the bench announced its decision, rejecting Musharraf's plea seeking to hold the treason trial at a military court.
According to Dawn News, the three-judge bench ruled that he was no longer in the army and that high treason can be tried exclusively in a special court.
The 70-year-old is facing treason charges, which can carry death penalty, over his imposition of a state of emergency in 2007 while he was president.
