Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will embark on his maiden visit to China on November 2. He will stay there till November 5 at the invitation of the Chinese leadership.
This will be Khan's first official visit to China after assuming office in August. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi, a statement from Pakistan's foreign ministry read.
During the visit, Khan is slated to hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing. The two sides will review the entire range of bilateral relations, including the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and are expected to sign several agreements of cooperation in diverse fields.
After his visit to Beijing, Khan will visit Shanghai to participate in the First China International Import Expo, where Pakistan is exhibiting a wide range of export products. The cricketer-turned-politician will be a keynote speaker at the inauguration of the expo, the statement added.
On the sidelines of the Shanghai forum, the Pakistan Prime Minister is scheduled to hold meetings with other world leaders. He will also hold talks with leaders of the Chinese financial and corporate sector.
The 66-year-old leader's visit to China comes in the backdrop of the Pakistan government securing a USD 6 billion deal with Saudi Arabia, during his visit to the kingdom country earlier this week.
