Pakistan's advisor to prime minster Sartaj Aziz has said that the Director General Military Operations (DGMOs) and security advisors from New Delhi and Islamabad will meet soon to resolve border tensions.
However, Aziz did not specify a particular date for the meeting, but said that it can be expected in the next two to three weeks.
Prime Minister's advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Aziz said the reason why a meeting between the DGMOs could not happen even after six weeks of its discussion between the premiers of the two nations in New York, was likely due to an element of mistrust between the two sides, the Express Tribune reports.
He said Pakistani officials blame Indian authorities for not giving a date, while Indian authorities blame it on Pakistani officials.
Aziz said that Pakistan also suggested an independent mechanism to be set up by the United Nations for obtaining an incident report, as the facts on who starts the firing at the LoC were not clear.
