Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is set make her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in upcoming film 'Raees.'
The 31-year-old star, who is currently being seen in Adnan Malik-starrer drama 'Sadqay Tumhare,' had paid visit to Mumbai last month after her TV show 'Humsafar,' in which she starred with Fawad Kha, gained popularity in India, Express Tribune reported.
Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar have now finalised the actress for the film which is being helmed by national award winner Rahul Dholakia.
According to the reports, while Shah Rukh Khan would be portraying a gangster based in Gujarat, Nawazuddin Siddiqui would likely be playing a cop, and as per a source Khan had dropped in at the audition to meet Mahira.
While earlier reports had been circling around Sonam Kapoor and Kirti Sanon to have been cast for the part, a source said that the makers wanted an "international" face instead, and fell Mahira was perfect for the role.
