Actor Aditya Pancholi along with his wife and daughter have slapped a Rs 100 crore defamation suit in the Bombay High Court against Rabia Khan, for her alleged posting of abusive comments on twitter about the Pancholis casting them on poor light.

Prashant Patil, lawyer of Aditya Pancholi told ANI, "On 7th of May 2014 my clients Aditya Pancholi, Zarina Wahab and their daughter Sana Pancholi had issued a defamation notice to Rabia Khan. Regarding a defamatory statement made by her in a twitter account, the onslaught was continuous. We only requested through legal notice to refrain from making any such further defamatory statements."

"When the onslaught didnot stop on twitter, my clients were compelled to move a suit on June 18, 2014 before the honourable Bombay High court. Yesterday, the suit got admitted before honourable Justice Gupte and a notice has been served upon her. Quite a foul and abusive language was used against my clients, we only brought it to the notice of the court and our sole intention is to refrain her from making any further drefamatory statements," he added.

The suit reportedly referred to 18 tweets posted by Rabia between March 4 and May 1 which it said were defamatory to the Pancholis. It said in these 18 tweets, Rabia had allegedly made personal comments about the three members of Pancholi family.

Two days back, the High Court, hearing Rabia's plea, had reportedly transferred the probe from Mumbai police to CBI, asking the agency to find out whether it was a case of suicide or homicide.

Actress Jiah Khan was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her Juhu apartment last year on June 3. Jiah's body was found hanging from a ceiling fan, post this, her boyfriend Suraj Pancholi (son of Aditya Pancholi) was taken into the police custody over the alleged murder. Jiah's mother Rabia has been claiming ever since that her daughter did not commit suicide and it was a murder.
