Actor Parker Sawyers will fill the role of a young Barack Obama in upcoming film 'Southside With You.'
The IM Global romantic comedy, which was penned and will be helmed by Richard Tanne, is based on Obama's first date with First Lady Michelle Obama, played by Tika Sumpter, Deadline.com reported.
In 1989, Obama was trying to woo lawyer Michelle Robinson. They saw a screening of Spike Lee's 'Do The Right Thing' at the Art Institute of Chicago and eventually had their first kiss outside an ice cream parlour.
Bob Teitel is producing the project, which will begin filming in Chicago this August, with IM Global's Stuart Ford while Matt Jackson, Glendon Palmer and Tracy Bing exec produce.
