Calling for ending the ongoing Parliament logjam, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would interfere in the issue 'as and when required'.
"The parliament is meeting after a two week deadlock. I convened a meeting of all leaders from different political parties. We will be discussing ways and means to end this deadlock as people are getting depressed that the parliament is not functioning. This is not in the interest of anybody. We want the Parliament to function and I am confident we will find a solution. As and when required, if there is a need Prime Minister will also intervene, no problem on that account," said Naidu.
Prime Minister Modi is meeting senior Cabinet Ministers today to look for ways to end the ongoing logjam in the Monsoon Session of Parliament with an adamant opposition led by the Congress firm on the resignation of tainted leaders linked to the Lalit Modi controversy and the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the Centre has ruled out the possibility of its ministers resigning over their alleged involvement in the above two issues.
The Congress had yesterday said that the logjam in Parliament would continue unless all corruption issues involving the ruling BJP are resolved.
