In the wake of his side's poor performances in the recent tour of Australia, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan has decided to convene a round-table conference of current and former players to discuss problems afflicting the country's cricket.

The PCB said in a release that the meeting would be held on March 6 and March 7, a day after the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Lahore.

While the meeting will be chaired by Shaharyar, national team chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and Director Academies Mudassar Nazar will co-chair it.

National Cricket Academy (NCA) head coach Mushtaq Ahmed will be the coordinator of the conference.

"The invitations will be extended to 1992 World Cup winning captain Imran Khan, Test captain Misbahul Haq, Test veteran Younus Khan, former national team head coach Waqar Younis, bowling legend Wasim Akram, batting legend Zaheer Abbas, former pacer Shoaib Akhtar, former captains Aamir Sohail, Javed Miandad, Rashid Latif, Ramiz Raja, Moin Khan, former spinner Abdul Qadir, former bowling coach Aaqib Javed, Iqbal Qasim, former cricketer Bazid Khan, and veteran off-spinner Saeed Ajmal and several others. Chairmen of committees and Board of Governors will also be invited," the Express Tribune quoted PCB as saying.

The PCB will seek views on the improvement of Pakistan national and junior team's performance, improvement of pitches, domestic structure and encouragement to foreign teams to tour Pakistan.

Pakistan recently slumped to a three-match Test series whitewash against Australia before going down 1-4 in the five-match ODI series.
