Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) interim chairperson Najam Sethi said that a new code of conduct would be put in place for cricket players and officials to stop them from doing anything illegal or unconstitutional.

Earlier, the Sindh High Court had directed Sethi to exercise powers as defined in PCB's constitution for a caretaker chief, after a petition filed at the court said that he was acting beyond the powers vested in him, the Express Tribune reports.

Assuring that the PCB will bring all board matters to the forefront for public viewing, Sethi said that the board is going to carry out an exercise that will aim to identify who is working with the board and how.

However the interim chairman said that he does not want to take any step that can be challenged as unconstitutional later on, adding that every matter in the board will continue like it has done before until the court makes a ruling.

Stating that his main focus is to tighten the budget of the board, Sethi further said that such a move would reduce expenditures similar to the austerity measures that are being adopted across the country, adding that he will hold another board meeting after he returns from his West Indies tour.
