Former CIA director General David Petraeus' mistress Paula Broadwell has apologized for her extra-marital affair with the disgraced chief.
In her first in-depth interview, with ABC News affiliate WSOC in Charlotte, Broadwell said she has regret for the harm that the whole episode has caused.
She said that she is regretful for the pain she has caused to her family and friends, and she is not trying to focus on the past.
According to the Washington Post, Broadwell, who wrote the biography "All In: The Education of General David Petraeus," lives in Charlotte with her husband, a doctor, and their two young sons.
Briadwell, who was a military veteran, was also investigated for sending harassing e-mails to Tampa socialite Jill Kelley, whom she considered a rival for Petraeus's affections.
