The supporters of Partiya Karker Kurdistan (Kurdistan Worker's Party) (PKK) terror group on Friday attacked an event attended by Turks marking the July 15 Turkey's failed coup attempt in London.
One policeman was injured when around 40 militants raided an event organised by the Union of European-Turkish Democrats (UETD)'s U.K. branch to commemorate the anniversary of the July 15 defeated coup in Turkey in the Walthamstow town of London attended by 350 Turkish expats, the Anadolu news agency reported.
They threw stones and bottles at the Turks after the British Police refused to intervene despite criticism from the Turkish audience.
The British Police were criticised for not intervening at PKK rallies and to act against the attackers although the group has been listed as a terrorist organisation in Turkey, EU and the U.S.
A brief scuffle broke out before the police separated the two groups and detained three individuals from the PKK group.
The police also detained one attendee of the event.
The event organised by the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) eventually continued as additional police arrived at the venue.
The group resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015 and since then, has been responsible for the deaths of approximately 1,200 security personnel and civilians, including women and children.
According to the military, almost 10,000 terrorists have been neutralised in air and land operations since then.
