Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday appreciated the efforts of former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for participating to realize his dream of a clean India through the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'.

Taking to twitter to express his gratitude, Prime Minister Modi used the hashtag #MyCleanIndia to ensure that the cleanliness campaign received maximum exposure on the social network site.

Tweeting about Gogoi, the Prime Minister wrote, "Glad to see Assam CM Tarun Gogoi ji inspiring the people of Assam to work towards a Clean India. #MyCleanIndia."

Prime Minister Modi also talked about Tendulkar's efforts, writing, "I congratulate @sachin_rt for his efforts. Together we will make Swachh Bharat Mission a success. #MyCleanIndia."

The Prime Minister also retweeted one of Tendulkar's tweets, where the former Indian captain had attached a picture of a lane in Mumbai and had written, "36Hrs ago, a small initiative towards #SwachaBharat has begun! Do you know this Mumbai street?"

Prime Minister Modi officially launched the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' on Tuesday, administering the Swachh Bharat pledge and wielded the broom as a token gesture to mark the cleanliness drive.

The 'Swachh Bharat' campaign focuses on sanitation, hygiene and waste management.
