Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon his arrival in Hannover on Sunday, received an overwhelming response from the Indian community in the city.
The supporters were seen chanting "Modi, Modi" and "Bharat Mata ki Jai". They also held up placards welcoming the Prime Minister to and waved the Tricolour with great enthusiasm.
"We are here to show our support. We believe in him and we believe that India will have a bright future under his leadership," said a supporter, Neha.
"We are all very excited. We just met the Prime Minister and hope to meet him again," said Apoorva, a student.
Harish Chouguley, who has been staying in Germany for five years, said that the Prime Minister has presented India to the international stage.
"The Prime Minister has presented India in such a way on the international platform that everyone has become his fan. The 'Make in India' campaign is so good, that we have come here in support of that too. I visit Hannover every year, but this time we can really feel that India is a partner country for the Hannover Messe," he said.
"We have been working in Germany for the last three years. We are very happy that Prime Minister Modi is here. We are coming to India in December; we want to make 'Make in India' a success," said another supporter.
During his visit to Germany, Prime Minister Modi will be present at the opening ceremony of the 2015 edition of the Hannover Messe business fair, for which India is the partner country.
He will later unveil a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Hannover, before holding talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
On Monday, the Prime Minister, along with Chancellor Merkel, will jointly open the India pavilion at the Hannover Messe, before travelling to Berlin to visit the Siemens Technical Academy and meeting German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel.
On Tuesday, the final day of his stay in Berlin, Prime Minister Modi will receive a ceremonial welcome by Chancellor Merkel at the Federal Chancellery. Later, he will visit a model railway station in the city, before flying for Ottawa for the final leg of his tour.
