Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Thursday laid foundation stone for the party's new headquarters at a two-acre plot on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, near the busy ITO cross-junction.
Prime Minister Modi was attended by Shah in the 'Bhoomi Poojan' for the new building.
The new building will have wi-fi, underground parking, conference halls, media facilities, eateries, studios, a library, reading room and other facilities.
The building is expected to be ready before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Present office at 11 Ashoka Road is considerd small for party's expanded activities.
