Says fear of imminent defeat in Bihar has forced Narendra Modi to muster courage and talk of corruption

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said the fear of imminent defeat in Bihar has forced Prime Minister Narendra Modi to muster courage and talk of corruption as he had chosen to remain silent on the Lalit Gate and Vyapam scam.

"Rattled by imminent defeat in Bihar Modiji forced to muster courage & talk of corruption that wasn't in his discourse since LalitGate & Vyapam," Nitish tweeted.

"He's preaching about corruption and probity in public life, but as on all other counts here too his actions don't match his words," he said.
 

Nitish further said, "We have all seen what he has done on Lalitgate &Vyapam. But when was the last time Modiji practiced what he preached?"

Prime Minister Modi has time and again blamed Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish of destroying Bihar in their 25-year reign in the state.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also thanked the people of Bihar for coming out in large numbers to vote for the grand alliance.

"I thank people for coming out in large numbers and especially the participation of women in the first phase of the polls," he said.

Fifty seven percent polling was recorded in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections yesterday.

The first phase is important for the JD (U), as out of the 49 seats, it had won 29 in the 2010 elections, while its then alliance partner the BJP had won 13 and the RJD had got four seats.

The second phase of the assembly polls is on October 16.
