Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday thanked Sri Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma) for donating Rs. 100 crore for 'Namani Gange' cleaning Ganga project.
Amma had yesterday presented a cheque of Rs. 100 crore to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for the construction of toilets in the poorest villages surrounding the Ganga River, as part of the Prime Minister's Swachh Bharat (Clean India) and Namami Gange (Clean Ganges) project.
"Mata Amritanandamayi is a shining beacon of service. I thank her for her contribution towards Namami Gange.

A second Rs. 100 crore phase of the project is due to be announced later this month during Amma's birthday celebrations.
