Arsenal swept past rival Galatasaray 4-1 in the Champions' League group stage but couldn't clinch top spot in Group D as Borussia Dortmund settled for a 1-1 draw against Anderlecht.
The Gunners, who came under heavy criticism following 3-2 defeat against Stoke, made an impressive return as both Aaron Ramsey and Lukas Podolski powered a brace to help Arsenal secure the second spot in the group.
While Podolksi gave the Gunners an early lead in 3rd minute, it was further consolidated with the brace from Aaron Ramsey featuring a stunning left-footed 35-yard volley. Though Wesley Sneijder netted a free-kick for Galatasaray, the lead was further extended by the Podolski netting a second with the final kick of the game.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said that there are some great teams in the draw for the last 16, adding that they need to wait and see who they get, the BBC reported.
Podolski scored his third goal in his sixth appearance for the gunners, as he led Wenger's side from the front.
