Police arrest Maoist commander in Jharkhand

Police arrested Maoist commander Santosh Kherwar in Jharkhand after acting on a tip-off.

The police had set up a special team to conduct raids and nabbed who was wanted in the eight cases.

Superintendent of Police Michael Raj said police recovered live bullets, money and mobiles phones and SIM cards from the rebel.

"We had set up a special team of a company of 11 Battalion after getting intelligence input. He was arrested from his friend's house during the raids. We have recovered 25 live bullets of SLR (self loading rifle), six mobile phones, 13 SIM cards and 27,000 rupees," said Raj.
