President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday hosted an Iftar Reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, which was graced by several dignitaries including Vice President Hamid Ansari, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.
The President conveyed Ramzan greetings and urged everyone to spread love, affection and mutual trust during this holy month.
He expressed the hope that the spirit of Ramzan will instil in every Indian a sense of unity and pride in the composite culture of India.
Other attendees at the reception were Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, and Heads of Diplomatic Missions, senior officials, scholars, religious leaders and public figures from various walks of life.
