Former South African captain Shaun Pollock has branded ODI captain AB de Villiers as a 'classy batsman' even as South Africa fights hard to score a victory against Australia in the first Test at Centurion Park.
However, De Villiers, who made his Test debut in 2004, was the 'lone man standing' on day two of the first Test and has kept his tag as the 'complete player' intact with the ease with which he repels even the most dangerous attacks- spin or pace.
According to News.com.au, Pollock said that De Villiers is 'just a delight to watch' with his classy performance, adding that he loves the batsman's technique as De Villiers is one of the players who keeps holding onto his innings.
The report mentioned that De Villiers stood tall at Centurion while his partners fell around him.
He coped with the pace of Mitchell Johnson - at least until a brutal ball just before stumps smacked him on the forearm - even pulling the left-armer for an incredible six on the leg side, the report added.
