With the tension escalating between India and Pakistan after two Indian soldiers' ^bodies were mutilated by the latter's Army, President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday said that collective action against terrorism should not be postponed by the international community.

"Collective, coordinated action by the international community against terrorism can no longer be postponed," the President tweeted.

Terming terrorism a major threat to the society, the President said that India unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

In a series of tweets, he further said that the international community should cooperate closely to address the terrorism menace.

Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged all nations to work unanimously to uproot the terrorism network, while adding that no region could "validate terrorism."

"The nations of the world need to work as one to disrupt the terrorist networks, their financing and cross border movement of terrorists," he said, while issuing a joint statement with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan here.

The Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) mutilated the bodies of two Indian soldiers in Krishna Ghati sector along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

The Indian Army confirmed the involvement of the BAT in the gruesome act.

The Pakistan Army, however, denied India's charge and described itself as a highly professional force that never disrespects any soldier.
