President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday extended warm greetings to the nation on the joyous occasion of Christmas.
"Merry Christmas, greetings to all on this joyous occasion," tweeted President Mukherjee.
"Let us rekindle in our minds and hearts the teachings of love and compassion of Lord Jesus Christ," he added.
"Let us this Xmas resolve to apply the divine teachings of Lord Jesus in our daily lives and strive ceaselessly for peace," he said in a series of tweets.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also extended Christmas greetings earlier today to everyone around the world.
"Merry Christmas to everyone around the world. May this day enhance the spirit of harmony, peace and brotherhood in society," tweeted the Prime Minister.
