President Pranab Mukherjee today inaugurated an audio-visual section in the Rashtrapati Bhavan library.
The audio-visual section brings together archival material procured from All India Radio, Films Division and Doordarshan.
President Mukherjee inaugurated the section and watched a newsreel on the departure of Lord Mountbatten from India and swearing in of Rajaji as the first Indian Governor General obtained from the Films Division archives.
He also listened to speeches of C. Rajagopalachari, Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on different topics obtained from the AIR archives.
The new audio-visual section in the Rashtrapati Bhavan Library includes speeches by Lord Mountbatten and C. Rajagopalachari as well as former Presidents Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Zakir Husain and Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.
Films on the life of C. Rajagopalachari, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Zakir Husain, Dr. Radhakrishnan, and the first Republic Day Parade etc. are also part of the collection.
