President Pranab Mukherjee will pay a three-day state visit to Nepal beginning on November 2 at the invitation of his counterpart Bidya Devi Bhandari.
A high-level delegation will accompany the President.
This will be the first visit of a President of India to Nepal in 18 years.
During the visit, President Mukherjee will hold talks with his Nepalese counterpart and have meetings with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and other leaders on a wide array of issues of mutual interests.
The state visit reflects the priority that India attaches to further strengthening its age-old, unique partnership with Nepal and shared historical and cultural linkages and wide-ranging people to people contacts.
Apart from official engagements in Kathmandu, President Mukherjee will also visit Janakpur and Pokhara.
