Princess Diana's treasured and iconic bridal gown will finally come back home after a global tour.

As per the will of the late Princess of Wales, her pearls encrusted silk wedding dress with a 25ft train and puffed sleeves, was to be given to her sons, Princes William and Harry, along with her other personal items after her tragic death in 1997, the Daily Express reported.

The dress had been able to raise money for the Diana's Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, but it is said that the princes had been unhappy about the "commercialisation" of their mother's belongings.

The dress had been suggested to be put at permanent display at Kensington Palace when both her sons are 30, and Prince Harry turns 30 on September 15.

The 1981 dress by designers David and Elizabeth Emanuel was charged 15 pounds to be viewed at the Cincinnati Museum Center, USA most recently, and Emanuel said that the gown had been abroad many a times, and she thinks that think people abroad had seen it more than the Brits.

Emanuel added that the princes should consider earning money for their charities by putting the dress on display in London, since it was still popular amongst people.
