Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club has retained Iranian all-rounder Meraj Sheykh as the captain of the team for the upcoming fifth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.
The Kabaddi team of the Capital City dons a completely new composition of new and young players that are rearing to compete for the trophy. Dabang Delhi will kick-start its campaign on July 29 against Jaipur Pink Panthers.
Speaking about the team and their plans for the season, Meraj Sheykh said, "The team is looking good and we have young and fit players to last the longer season. We have skilled and experienced players in all departments and the young guns add depth to the Dabang squad. With utility players across the team, our aim is to be the team to watch this season."
Talking about the Dabang captain, Ramesh Bhendigiri, Head Coach - Dabang Delhi KC said, "Meraj Sheykh has been a strong asset to the team in the past seasons and I'm sure he will lead the team well again. He is a versatile player- one who raids like a fox and defends like a bull. He is extremely fit and skillful and with this new squad, I'm sure that he and the team will give all its fans reasons to cheer and rejoice through the league."
Retaining the skipper from the last year-star all-rounder Iranian Meraj Sheykh, the Delhi team has added some exceptional players to the squad. The team signed up efficacious players such as the experienced defenders Nilesh Shinde, Bajirao Hodage, Sunil Kumar and energetic raiders Ravi Dalal, Rohit Baliyan, Suresu and Abolfazel Maghsoudlou. Dabang Delhi KC has further strengthened its raiding unit by adding the young guns Anand Patil, Shubham Palkar and Vipin Malik along with Viraj Vishnu Landge, Swapnil Shinde, Satpal guarding the defence unit. The team also has more all-rounders this season including Tapas Pal, Vishal, Rupesh Tomar, Chetan S, and Yatharth.
