Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that India is not under any pressure due to an agreement between the United States and China on climate change, and added that it is the duty of every country to provide a clean and green earth to the future generations.
"The agreement that has been concluded between the U.S. and the China does not impose any pressure on us. India is an independent country and there is no pressure on us from any country or any person. But there is pressure, when we think about the future generations, what kind of world are we going to give them, then there is pressure," said Prime Minister Modi while addressing the joint press conference with U.S. President Barack Obama.
"Climate change itself is a huge pressure, global warming is a huge pressure and all those who think about a better life and a better world for the future generations. Those who are concerned about this then it is their duty, they would want to give a better lifestyle to the future generations, a good life and good environment, there is pressure. There is pressure on all countries, all governments and all the people," he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Barack Obama addressed a joint press conference following the delegation level talks held in Hyderabad house of the national capital.
Earlier in the day, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama landed in New Delhi for their three-day visit of India.
