PTI conspiring to topple govt., alleges PML-N

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) has accused Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) of conceiving "another conspiracy" to derail democracy in the country by toppling the present regime.

Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and MNA Daniyal Aziz told a news conference that the PTI chairman did not want to see the present regime complete its five-year term as he knew that his party would not be able to win the 2018 general elections.

Stating the PTI knew that if the present regime was allowed to complete its term then Pakistan would be on the road to progress, he alleged that Khan wanted to send the present government packing before the next polls.

In an apparent reference to the PTI's tough stance on the Panama Papers leaks, he said: "Once again, they are preparing a conspiracy against democracy and the country's economic development, this time on another issue."

The PML-N leaders also accused the PTI leadership of its failure to curb corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where their party had been ruling for the past three years, Dawn reports.
