Pushkar Fair, which is one of the most colourful and popular fairs in India, came to an end on Thursday.
The week-long fair kicked off on October 31. It is known worldwide to present a brilliant combination of camel rides, various sporting events, Indian handicrafts, and mouth-savoring food.
Camels are a major attraction for the travelers at this fair as they enjoy rides on camels as well as on camel carts and get mesmerised by the camel dance.
Set against the backdrop of Rajasthan's picturesque landscape, this annual fair offers a lifetime experience for the tourists. Apart from camels, the fair also showcases traditional dances and Rajasthan's folk music extensively.
Pushkar Fair is also an occasion for Hindu pilgrims to converge for a holy dip in the sacred Pushkar Lake as it is believed that it 'washed away the sins of a lifetime' and pay obeisance at the only Brahma temple in the world.
Over 6000 international and domestic tourists thronged to Pushkar, where thousands of animals, mainly camels were also brought to be sold and traded during the fair.
Meanwhile, security arrangements were reviewed and beefed up after an unidentified caller threatened about a bomb blast at the fair on November 01.
