The band members of the UK rock band Queen are hopeful that Ben Whishaw will agree to play the role of Freddie Mercury in the upcoming untitled biopic.

Drummer Roger Taylor told 'The One Show' hosts Chris Evans and Alex Jones that the actor they wished played the part has his initials starting with "BW."

After Jones suggested if the actor was Wishaw, Taylor confirmed by saying that they hoped so, Metro.co.uk reported.

Previously, Sacha Baron Cohen was supposed to essay the role of Mercury, but pulled out of the film, leaving uncertainty over who would play the singer's role in the film.
