Taking exception to the Congress party's outrage over the alleged snooping on party vice president Rahul Gandhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday said the former must refrain from politicizing every 'technical' issue.

"We are aware of the fact that Congress today has no other issue to politicise or discuss, so naturally they are trying to politicise it but a serious advice to them would be, please don't politicize technical issue," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI.

"Everything should not be seen through a political prism. Rahul Gandhi is a SPG protectee and if the protectee is being visited by the ones who give the cover protection, so this should be seen as a technical thing and not as a political thing," he added. he Congress Party has alleged that an official from the Delhi police Headquarters was found snooping and making weird inquiries in the vicinity of Rahul Gandhi's office.

The party strongly condemned the act saying, "This kind of political espionage, this kind of snooping and surveillance, this kind of intrusion into political opponent's lives, this may be Gujarat's model, it is not India's model."

Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi also demanded an explanation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on this issue.

According to reports, a team of the Delhi Police visited the Congress vice-president's office last week to make inquiry about his physical features.

The incident takes place at a time when the Congress vice-president is on a leave doing introspection for the party's dismal show in the Delhi Assembly polls. He is not even attending the crucial Budget Session of the Parliament that is underway.
