Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who began his 10 km-long 'padayatra' in Anantapur district today, said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has turned into 'videshi babu' after winning the elections.
Gandhi interacted with the farmers, weavers and students during his 'padyatra' aimed at highlighting various problems being faced by the farmers in the state,
"Whenever we saw a poor, needy, be it a farmer, labourer, women or adivasis, we have tried to help them. The work done by the Congress Party in years, the trust that we gained in a time span of 10-12 years, was washed away by Naidu in his just a single speech. He lied to the women here, just to win the elections and that is the reason why the doors of bank are shut for them today," he said.
"The power that the Congress Party gave you, he ruined it in a minute. On the other hand, we have our Prime Minister who gives speeches in the Parliament and at the same time tries to shut down MNERGA. He said that MNERGA is a futile programme, nobody is benefited from it. He also said that he is not shutting it down because he wants the nation to see the Congress Party's gaffe," he added.
Gandhi alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu spend most of their time abroad.
"They don't give their time to the poor and farmers. Prior to elections, his name was Chandrababu Naidu and after elections it has turned into 'videshi babu'," he added.
