Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday said that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will be travelling to the state to visit the families of those farmers who have committed suicide.
"Rahul Gandhi is coming to Telangana to console the families of farming community who committed suicide. The farming community of the state is feeling that they are in serious problem and the state government is not taking proper care of them," Vikramarka told ANI.
At least 700 farmers have killed themselves in Telangana due to agrarian distress.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had visited Punjab where he witnessed the situation of the farmers who were finding it difficult to sell their produce with advent of the unseasonal rains.
