Rahul has developed habit to say 'useless' things: Ravi Shankar Prasad

Taking strong objection to Rahul Gandhi's remark saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is waging war against poor people through demonitisation, Union Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday retorted saying it has become a habit of the Congress vice president to say "useless things".

Prasad further asserted that the poor people stand with Prime Minister Modi-led government and believe in the government to take stringent actions against the black money hoarders.

"It has become a habit of Rahul Gandhi to say such useless things. Sometime he says something about earthquake and sometimes else. I can understand his predicament. But I want to say that people are ready to stand with us. They believe in the Prime Minister and his government that the black money hoarders would not be spared," Prasad told ANI.

When asked about the status of the probe investigating the hacking of Rahul's Twitter account, Prasad said, "We asked Rahul Gandhi for account login details for assistance in the probe, but no cooperation came from his end."

Earlier, at a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Dadri district, Rahul said, "PM Modi has waged a war against the poor people. I don't see any rich or black money holders in the queue, they are withdrawing money using the back door," he said at a rally in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh.

"The situation will not normalise in 50 days but the nation will bear the brunt of the demonetisation move for years," Gandhi told ANI adding that the decision had been taken without consulting any expert.

"If I will be allowed to speak in the Parliament then I will explain what is the objective and reason behind demonetizing high denomination currency notes," he added.
