The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's 'spit and run strategy without responsibility' has thoroughly exposed the party in terms of it spearheading the log jam in parliament.
BJP leader Prakash Javadekar said, "Rahul Gandhi comes out and gives one byte. It's a spit and run strategy without any responsibility, and the Congress stands completely exposed on this. They are the reason for the log jam in parliament. People are not with the Congress, but want parliament to function, and if members today are protesting, it is there anguish, that why parliament is not functioning? It's not only about expenditure. It's about our duty."
"I think it's a very ironical situation where the Congress is running away from debate, discussion which they ask for .Their notices are for discussion. The chairman allowed it; we accepted it, and now, they are running away from discussion. So, when they were in power, they were running away from discussion, when they are in opposition, they are running away from discussion," he added.
He further accused the Grand Old Party of not allowing India to develop.
"Congress was anti-development when they were in power through their non-governance, through their policy paralysis and through their acts of corruption. They ensure that India doesn't develop, and today also, they are anti-development, because they are stolid parliament .So, this is the Congress which is completely responsible, and therefore, the anguish of MPs is understandable," he further added.
Seeking to provide the opposition a taste of its own medicine, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs on Friday staged a protest against Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat at the Gandhi statue in Parliament.
The protesting MPs were armed with banners that stated, "Shame! Shame! Dismiss CM".
