Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over its attempt to "divide the society on communal lines".
Addressing a rally here yesterday, Gandhi alleged that BJP's "divisive" policy was responsible for spoiling the country's secular fabric, while stressing that Congress's ideology was to unite the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
He further slammed BJP for trying to project Narendra Modi as the answer to all the issues faced by the people of the country.
"Members of BJP say that India needs only one watchman. And, they have proposed their watchman. They say that you make this watchman the Prime Minister and every problem in the country will be solved. But, we say that the country doesn't need just one watchman but it needs 11-12 Crore watchmen. And, we want to become the watchman of the nation," said Gandhi.
The Congress vice-president earlier said the opposition's bubble would burst after elections.
"After elections their marketing strategy, their (development) model will burst. Their leaders will wonder why did they spend so much money and why did they hype it so much build? But it will burst," Gandhi added.
