The Railway Ministry has decided to run clones of several popular Patna bound trains ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls.
"The decision was based purely on professional reasons but it goes without saying that the duplicate trains will encourage and facilitate the travel of a substantial chunk of the states migrant population to their homes to cast their votes," said railway officials.
Total 131 duplicate trains will run which include Patna Rajdhani, Sampoorna Kranti, Shramjeevi Express and Magadh Express.
The trains would start operating before Dussehra festival on October 22 and would culminate before the Chhath festival on November 17.
The Election Commission had earlier warned the Railway Ministry against giving special concessions for special trains being run to and from poll-bound Bihar till the model code of conduct is in force.
