Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said that Rajasthan MLA Prahlad Gunjal has been suspended from the party for his supposed use of abusive language against a medical officer, and added that he had been served a showcause notice for his indecent act.
"The Rajasthan MLA, who is supposed to have used abusive language against a medical officer, has been suspended from the party," Naidu told media outside the Parliament here.
"He has been asked to explain. This is not acceptable to the party and the same has been communicated to him," he added while asserting that the BJP would not tolerate such behaviour or actions.
According to reports, Gunjal had earlier on Thursday threatened Chief Medical Officer RN Yadav on phone for not allowing the transfer of a BJP worker's relative.
As per the audio tapes, Gunjal did not just threaten the medical officer but also used abusive language against him and his family members.
