Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the internal security situation in the country, in wake of the blast that occurred in Bangalore earlier this week.
According to reports, the meeting was attended by Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh, Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
On Sunday evening, a blast on the popular Church Street, which was triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), hit Bangalore, leading to the death of one person, with three others injured.
Following the incident, Rajnath Singh stated that the Centre has offered help to the Karnataka government with regards to the incident, with Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju declaring the attack an 'act of terror'.
Meanwhile, security has also been beefed up in the national capital.
