'Rangoon' would be one of the films of the year: Kareena

Kareena Kapoor Khan recently caught a screening of hubby Saif Ali Khan and ex-Shahid Kapoor's upcoming film 'Rangoon', which she expects to be one of the films of the year 2017.

The 'Heroine' of Bollywood was all praises for the movie and said, "I'm expecting it to be one of the films of the year because it is directed by one of my favourite directors Vishal Bhardwaj, who has also made 'Omkara'. I think that people are also expecting that because Saif was so good in that film as 'Langra Tyagi', which is one of his iconic roles."

The actress then said people will find Saif's character of Rustom "Rusi" Billimoria to be very striking as it is for the first time he's playing a Parsi and a film producer himself.

"The negative characters in Vishal's films are always very striking. However, there are three stellar actors in this film, Kangana, Shahid and Saif. I like the competition and there should be one too, because then only they will all give their best. I expect nothing less from them. They are the best performers of the industry," she added.

Kareena, who prefers not to go for trials, said, she had to come for this one because of Vishal, Sajid Nadiadwala and Saif.

"This film is a very emotional one for me because it is produced by Sajid, with whom Karisma did 'Judwaa' and I did 'Kambakkht Ishq'. I normally don't go for trials. Even Saif was surprised that I came for this but I just had to," said the new mommy.

Regarding her upcoming venture 'Veerey Di Wedding' with actress Sonam Kapoor, the 36-year-old said, "We are starting the film in May. I am very excited as it is for the first time that the story is about four different women. It's going to be an amazing story.
