Current Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf, who was reinstated to the post by the Islamabad High Court (ICH) on Saturday, has said that he would review all appointments and decisions taken by his predecessor Najam Sethi to determine their legality.
Ashraf said that he would decide each one of the decisions and appointments made by the previous PCB set-up to decide if they were made on merit.
According to the Dawn, Ashraf, who had been removed from his post as PCB chairman by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Feb 10, repeatedly said that he wants to work with the government whole heartedly as he believes that it is not possible to restore international cricket in Pakistan and run cricket in the country without its support.
The Prime Minister had brought in Sethi as the chairman after removing Ashraf from the post in February and the recently removed PCB chief had changed almost all members of Pakistan's team management besides forming a new selection committee.
Ashraf said that he hailed IHC's decision to reinstate him as the PCB chief and remove Sethi, who was heavily criticised for bringing in some tainted ex-cricketers in the Board on important posts.
Ashraf also added that he had nothing against the prime minister and just wanted to work under his guidance.
