Emmy award-winning star Riz Ahmed is in talks to star in Netflix's 'Hamlet'.
The 34-year-old actor is in negotiations to play the titular character in the contemporary take on Shakespeare's tragedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Mike Lesslie, who wrote 2015s 'Macbeth' will write the adaptation.
Set in a modern-day London of economic and political uncertainty, the story follows the intersecting themes of familial honour, moral duty and dynastic corruption.
Kenneth Branagh, Ethan Hawke and Mel Gibson are among the actors, who have previously played the Danish prince on-screen.
The streaming giant has agreed to finance and will carry the film, most likely getting it into cinemas for a brief run.
