RJD scoffs at Sushil Modi's allegations against Lalu, Tej Pratap

Hours after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Kumar Modi accused Bihar Health Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav's son Tej Pratap Yadav for not declaring their sources of income and dubious land deals, RJD leader Sunil Kumar on Wednesday asserted that Sushil Modi was only making sensational news, rather than checking into facts and figures.

"The allegations that Sushil Kumar Modi has put on Lalu Prasad Yadhav are false. Seems like, he is more interested in making sensational news rather than checking into facts and figures," Kumar told ANI.

Kumar further stated that the BJP's allegations on Yadav and his family proved how low they can stoop to.

"These act of his shows what he is capable of and how low he can stoop to. The BJP's allegations on Yadav are totally wrong and by now, the people of Bihar have got to know what the truth is," said Kumar.

On Friday, Sushil Kumar Modi said Tej Pratap hid the fact from both the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the State Government that he owned prime land worth Rs. 15 crore in Aurangabad district in Bihar.

"Tejaswi Yadav deliberately concealed his ownership of this land and the loan from Madhya Bihar Grameen Bank in his affidavit before the Election Commission during the 2015 Assembly polls and also in his disclosures as a minister before the State Government in December 2016," Sushil said.

"It is beyond anyone's comprehension as to why he has not declared the property valued at Rs. 15 crore in official records," he added.

Modi even dared Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to sack Tej Pratap after this revelation.

As per Sushil Modi, Tej Pratap had purchased land for Rs. 53.34 lakh in Aurangabad district in 2010 from seven people, but didn't declare it in his election affidavit in the 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections. He didn't even mention it in the annual assets declaration before the State Government.
