Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on Monday said Bangladesh expects China, Russia, India and Japan to help them resolve the Rohingya crisis.

"We expect China, Russia, India and Japan to play a major role in resolving the crisis," she said, as quoted by The Daily Star.

She said this during her meet with Gustavo Meza-Cuadra, President, UNSC delegation, at her official residence.

Sheikh Hasina again urged the international community to continue mounting strong pressure on the Myanmar government to take back their Rohingya nationals from Bangladesh, the report further said.

"Myanmar should act in accordance with the agreement they have signed with Bangladesh (regarding the repatriation of the Rohingyas)," she said.

According to Dhaka Tribune, "Myanmar says its neighbour has only handed back 8,000 repatriation forms so far, many of them incomplete, delaying the return process."

Myanmar denies the Rohingya citizenship and accompanying rights.

Since 2012 it has driven out two-thirds of its roughly 1.5 million Rohingya population.
