The Russian Export Center is slated to organises its first business event within the program of opening of its representative office in India, coinciding with the first day of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to India and the organisation of a Russia-India Business Summit.
Companies representing the agro-industrial complex, IT, engineering, power generation, medicine, tourism services, baby products and household appliances sectors are among the participants of the business mission. In total, more than 50 companies have arrived in India to develop trade and economic relations and search for partners.
"In the first half of 2018, we saw positive dynamics in the commodity circulation: the joint trade volume reached almost USD 5.5 billion, which is a 30 per cent growth as compared to 2017. The growth was specifically due to the Russian export: for the last year export grew by 43 per cent, while import grew by 6.43 per cent (according to the Federal Customs Service of Russia). I am assured that opening of a representative office of REC in India will further aid in the development of trade and economic relations between the countries and establishment of partnership relations with potential importers," said General Director of the Russian Export Center, Andrey Slepnev.
The opening ceremony will be followed by a panel discussion "Business in India: Opportunities and Perspectives of the Trade and Economic Relations", where the participants will discuss a number of important business issues: state regulation of foreign trade and investment activities in India; specifics of the customs control procedures regulating import transactions; currency and financial regulation of import transactions in India and free economic zones; logistic Russia-India pathways and routes; intellectual property protection measures.
Delegates of the business mission will take part in topic-related and industrial round tables, B2B meetings with potential partners and representatives of associations and state authorities of India.
During the panel " Exchange of knowledge in Tourism between Russia and India", the participants will discuss priority directions of the tourist flows from India to Russia and methods to increase a mutual tourist flow between the counties, preferred tourism destinations and criteria for selection of regions to be visited. Presentations will also be made on a number of Russian regions: the Crimea, Baikal, Volga Region, and the Golden Ring.
During the panel "Entering the Indian Market. Practical Cases and the Success Story", representatives of Sberbank India, Technonicol and Avtomatika-S will talk about their experience of entry into the Indian market and specifics of doing business in the country.
As part of the business mission, there will be a pitch session with participation of business from Russia and India, where the Russian side will present its companies and projects.
