Former world number golfer Tiger Woods has attributed inconsistency to his tough start to the ongoing US Open but insisted that he is on 'right track' to regain his form.
The 14-time major champion, who posted a 10-over-par 80 in the first round at Chambers Bay, said that he just couldn't get the desired consistency despite trying hard to achieve it, the BBC reported.
Woods registered a triple bogey on the 14th and is placed well behind leaders Dustin Johnson of America and Sweden's Henrik Stenson who are on five under.
The American said that he hasn't played enough last year and doesn't have a rhythm to his play, but insisted he would overcome this phase soon.
Woods, who missed last year's Masters and the US Open, had also withdrawn from the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in February, his second start of the season, because of tightness in his back, stating that he was taking an indefinite break from the professional game.
