Railway Minister D.V Sadananda Gowda today reached the site of the train accident near Chhapra to take stock of the situation along with BJP leaders Sushil Modi and Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
Gowda said, "I have taken stock of situation, something has gone wrong, but I am not in a position to say anything. We will look into the matter."
The Railway minister had earlier announced a compensation of Rs two lakh for the deceased and Rs one lakh for those who were injured in the accident.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee, along with other dignitaries, have expressed their grief over the loss of lives in the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express train derailment.
